The Ambler & Fuller Trophy

The Brian Ambler & Frank Fuller Trophy

The Brian Ambler and Frank Fuller Trophy is a single rink competition for teams from outdoor clubs.  It is named in honour of Brian Ambler and Frank Fuller, two past presidents of Loddon Vale who had also bowled outdoors for many years and were well known in the outdoor bowls community, and who both died in 2019.

Rules and Other Information

1.       Each team consists of one rink of four people.  There are no restrictions on the composition of the rink.  Teams may use as many players as they wish over the whole competition, but no player may play for more than one team.  All players must have been members of the club on 1st September 2025.

2.       Matches are played over 21 ends with a four hour time limit.  Dead ends are replayed.

3.       In the group stage the winning team is awarded 3 points.  If a match is tied each team is awarded one point.  In the semi finals and final an extra end will be played if the match is tied.

4.       The top two teams from each group will play the semi finals.  The teams will be ranked by :

5.       Dress will be club shirts and greys except for the final which will be whites.  For all rounds where clubs have registered coloured trousers these may be worn.

6.       Rink fees are £5 per person.

7.       Start time is 6.30pm unless notified otherwise.

8.       If the club is closed due to adverse weather or other circumstances or if the organisers have to change match dates for whatever reason, the organisers will attempt to rearrange matches giving at least 7 days notice.

9.       Except for the above EIBA national championship rules shall apply.

10.     The organisers decision is final.

The entry fee is £10 per team.  The winning team shall receive £100 and the runners up £40.  Additionally the winning team and the winner of the third place playoff shall receive a trophy to be held for one year.
